Nuggets’ Gordon Injured Ahead of Crucial Game 7 vs. Thunder

Denver, CO — Denver Nuggets forward Aaron Gordon suffered a left hamstring injury late in Game 6 against the Oklahoma City Thunder, raising concerns about his availability for Game 7. The Nuggets secured a 119-107 victory on Thursday night to force the decisive game, which will take place on Sunday.
The injury occurred in the closing minutes of the match when Gordon chased a loose ball while Alex Caruso attempted to make the play. After kicking the ball, Gordon immediately reached for his hamstring, visibly distressed. He remained in the game for a brief time before coach David Adelman substituted him out.
“At this point, I have no idea,” Adelman said when asked about the concern level for Gordon’s injury. “It would be high, obviously. Aaron is one of our guys — he’s the reason why we’ve won games, and won series, and have a banner hanging up in there.”
Following the game, Gordon expressed some optimism but acknowledged uncertainty about his condition. “I feel OK,” he said. “We’ll see how I feel tomorrow morning.” His status remains unclear as the Nuggets prepare for a critical match against the Thunder.
Gordon has had an up-and-down season, battling injuries and demonstrating resilience as a key player for the Nuggets. He averaged 16.8 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in the playoffs, contributing significantly to the team’s performance. Losing him, especially with the team already facing injuries with Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray, would be a significant blow.
However, the upcoming two-day break could provide Gordon with a valuable opportunity to recover before the tense Game 7. The extra rest may also support other injured teammates. The Game 7 matchup is set for Sunday at 3:30 p.m. EST at Paycom Center.
