Nuggets and Thunder Battle in NBA Playoffs Game 3

Oklahoma City, OK – The Oklahoma City Thunder will host the Denver Nuggets in Game 3 of their playoff series on Friday, May 9, 2025. After losing a close Game 1, the Thunder are determined to defend their home court and regain momentum against the second-seeded Nuggets.
In their last matchup, the Nuggets pulled off a shocking win, aided by a last-second three-pointer from Aaron Gordon. Now, the Thunder are hoping for a stronger performance from Jalen Williams, who has struggled in the playoffs but averaged 21.6 points this season. Williams had a disappointing shooting night in Game 1, making just 5 of 20 attempts and finishing with 16 points.
“Jalen needs to step up if we want to win,” said Thunder coach Mark Daigneault. “He is crucial for our offense. We expect more from him at home.” The Thunder enter Friday’s game with a strong home record, which they will rely on to help regain their advantage in the series.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets are looking for a better performance from Michael Porter Jr., who scored only one point in Game 1 after an injury-plagued season. His shooting ability will be vital as the Thunder aim to defend Nikola Jokic, who dominated the glass with 22 rebounds last game.
“We need to bounce back and help Jokic get open looks,” Porter said. “I know I can do better, and this is the game to show it.” With both teams desperate for a win, the action promises to be intense as they fight for the upper hand in the series.
Both teams are set to tip-off Friday night at Paycom Center.
