Nyt Strands Cool Color Theme Words

The New York Times‘ word game, Strands, has released its latest puzzle for October 22, 2024, with a theme centered around “cool colors.” This unique word-search challenge requires players to form words from interconnected letters that can move in various directions, including up, down, sideways, and diagonally.

The theme for today’s puzzle is “Cool color!” which hints at words that are names for cool, moody hues. The specific words to find include various shades of blue: Navy, Azure, Cobalt, Turquoise, Indigo, and Periwinkle.

A key feature of Strands is the “spangram,” a special theme word that spans the entire puzzle. For October 22, the spangram is “THEBLUES,” which is arranged horizontally across the grid.

To play Strands, players must use the theme to look for related words, drag or click the letters in order, and submit their guesses. Finding three hint words with at least four letters each will reward players by revealing one of the theme words. The game ensures that every letter on the board is used in either a theme word or the spangram.

For those struggling, additional clue words such as COLT, COAT, TEAR, and WIRE can be used to unlock in-game hints and help players progress through the puzzle.
