Ohio State Basketball Team Vs Mount St. Mary's

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio State‘s men’s basketball team will wrap up its six-game homestand by hosting Mount St. Mary's on Tuesday at Value City Arena. The game is set to tip off at 6:30 p.m. and will be televised by the Big Ten Network.

The Buckeyes, now 5-0 this season, moved to this unbeaten record with a commanding 91-58 victory over Western Michigan last Thursday. This marks the Buckeyes’ best start since the 2020-21 season, and they are aiming for a 6-0 start for the first time since they won nine straight games in the 2019-20 season.

In their last game, five Ohio State players scored in double figures, with senior center Christorph Tilly leading the way with 17 points. In addition, John Mobley Jr. contributed 15 points, while Bruce Thornton added 11 points. Forwards Devin Royal and freshman Amare Bynum both recorded double-doubles, with Bynum achieving career highs of 12 points and 10 rebounds.

On the other side, Mount St. Mary’s arrives at the match with a 1-5 record. Their only win came against St. Francis (Pa.), while their losses include setbacks against several teams, including a close overtime defeat at Maryland.

After this game, the Buckeyes will face a challenging stretch of five consecutive games against Power Five opponents, starting with a trip to Pittsburgh on Friday, Nov. 28. Ohio State’s next Big Ten game will be on Dec. 6 against Northwestern.

Tickets for all Ohio State men’s basketball games, including this one, are available through the Ohio State Athletics Ticket Office.

As the season progresses, Coach Jake Diebler emphasized the importance of maintaining strong practice sessions, especially with looming significant games. He noted, “Our leadership plays a big role in that, and just the type of guys we have, the hunger they have to keep getting better is why.” The Buckeyes will need this determination as they take on Mount St. Mary’s.
