OHSAA Announces First-Round Pairings for 2024 High School Football Playoffs
The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has released the first-round pairings for the 2024 high school football playoffs, marking the beginning of the postseason after the conclusion of the regular season on Saturday, October 26.
All first-round games are scheduled to be played on Friday, November 1, at 7 p.m., unless otherwise noted. For the third consecutive season, the top 16 schools in each region have qualified for the postseason, resulting in playoff berths for 448 schools across the state.
The top eight seeds in each region will host the first-round games. Tickets for all playoff games will be available on Mondays at www.ohsaa.org/tickets.
The playoff schedule includes second-round games on Friday, November 8, at the better-seeded team’s venue. Neutral sites will be used starting in the third round on Friday, November 15, and for the regional finals on Friday, November 22. The state semifinals are set for Friday, November 29, with the state championship games to be held at Tom Benson Hall of Fame Stadium in Canton from December 5-7.
Some notable matchups in Division I include Region 1, where Cleveland St. Ignatius (1-9) will face Mentor (10-0), and Region 2, where Lancaster (3-7) will take on Powell Olentangy Liberty (8-2). In Division IV, Region 13, Johnstown Northridge (5-5) will play against Milan Edison (10-0).
