Shohei Ohtani Los Angeles Dodgers Jersey Sales Rankings

LOS ANGELES, March 31, 2025 — Shohei Ohtani, the star outfielder for the Los Angeles Dodgers, has marked another triumph in his illustrious career by securing the title of most popular Major League Baseball jersey worldwide. The ranking comes after his team’s stunning victory in the World Series and his third league MVP award.

The information was released by the league, indicating that the rankings are based on sales of Nike jerseys from the Fanatics network, including MLBShop.com, since the end of the World Series. Ohtani’s jersey topped all others, demonstrating his immense popularity and marketability among fans.

In addition to Ohtani’s achievement, six other Dodgers players made it to the top 20 jersey sales list. Freddie Freeman‘s jersey ranked second, followed by Mookie Betts in fourth, Yoshinobu Yamamoto in tenth, Clayton Kershaw in eleventh, and Kiké Hernández in sixteenth.

Ohtani’s number-one ranking paired with Yamamoto’s tenth spot marks a significant milestone—only the second time two Japanese players have landed in the top 10. The first instance occurred in 2012 when Ichiro Suzuki and Yu Darvish achieved the same feat.

The top five list featured other notable players, such as Juan Soto of the New York Mets at third and reigning American League MVP Aaron Judge of the New York Yankees at fifth. Rounding out the top ten are Francisco Lindor from the Mets, Bryce Harper from the Philadelphia Phillies, Jose Altuve of the Houston Astros, and Ronald Acuña Jr. of the Atlanta Braves.

Ohtani’s monumental achievements and the popularity of his jersey underscore his status in MLB as a premier athlete and a fan favorite. The latest rankings show the excitement surrounding baseball, particularly with the presence of several star players weakening boundaries among fans across the league.
