Oklahoma Climbs in Coaches Poll After Key Victory
Norman, Oklahoma — The University of Oklahoma football team jumped to No. 8 in the latest Coaches Poll after defeating a ranked opponent on the road. The Sooners secured a crucial victory against the previously fourth-ranked team, which has significantly shifted the landscape ahead of the College Football Playoff.

“Who’s it not pretty for? What does that mean? Some people it’s pretty for. I happen to like it,” Oklahoma head coach said following the game. “But again, it’s a reflection, we see it in our league. I don’t know what all happened today throughout the league, but we’re playing really good people. They’re going to make plays, we’re going to make plays. We’re going to get got, they’re going to get got. Turnovers are going to be a part of it.”
Meanwhile, Texas dropped from No. 10 to No. 18 after losing handily to Georgia, 35-10. The Longhorns were closely matched until the Bulldogs pulled away in the final quarter with two touchdown passes and a rushing touchdown from their quarterback.
