Oklahoma Sooners Softball Team Red River Showdown

NORMAN, Okla. – The Oklahoma Sooners softball team is set to face their rival, the Texas Longhorns, in the Red River Showdown at Devon Park on Saturday. The first pitch is scheduled for 2 p.m.

The Sooners are riding a wave of confidence after a thrilling walk-off home run in their previous game, with aspirations of winning their fifth consecutive national title – a feat never before achieved in NCAA softball history. Coach Patty Gasso’s squad is known for their resilience and teamwork.

This season, players have been seen raising four fingers during games. They describe it as a symbol of faith, representing the “fourth man in the fire,” a reference to God’s presence during challenging times. The players emphasize their belief that they are not alone, win or lose.

Standout player Ella Parker has turned heads with her powerful performances, contributing significantly to the team’s success. With the historic rivalry between Oklahoma and Texas, all eyes will be on the Sooners as they look to make history in the upcoming showdown.
