PARIS, France — French actor Omar Sy has joined the ownership team of Paris Basketball, the club announced on Thursday afternoon. Sy, known for his role in the series “Lupin,” will co-own the team alongside American investors Eric Schwartz and David Kahn.

The club shared the news on its social media platforms, emphasizing Sy’s passion for basketball and his frequent attendance at games at the Adidas Arena. In a statement, the club noted that Sy’s involvement will help enhance its ambitions for growth, both domestically and internationally.

“I am a big basketball fan. I first came to see the club play during the EuroLeague match against Baskonia last November. I was struck by the energy of the project. It is a club capable of uniting the Greater Paris in all its diversity, which is valuable,” the 47-year-old actor said.

Sy also noted the intensity and character of the team as critical drivers of its sporting ambitions. He expressed excitement about contributing to the development of Paris Basketball.
