U.S. Open Announces Future Venues Through 2051

OAKMONT, Pennsylvania — The U.S. Open is set to take place at prestigious golf courses through 2051, primarily focusing on a select group of iconic anchor sites. This year’s tournament, marking its 125th anniversary, returned to Oakmont for a record tenth time since it last hosted in 2016.
The United States Golf Association (USGA) has revealed that future U.S. Open matches will include renowned venues such as Shinnecock Hills, Pebble Beach, and Winged Foot. This approach not only celebrates the tournament’s history but also emphasizes the challenges presented by these elite courses.
Oakmont Country Club, known for its daunting layout and difficult par 3s, will host the U.S. Open again in 2033, 2042, and 2049. The course features unique characteristics, including long par 3s that stretch over 200 yards, often testing players’ distance control.
Upcoming hosts include Shinnecock Hills, which will showcase its scenic beauty in 2026 and 2036, and Pebble Beach, with its iconic 7th hole, scheduled to host the tournament in 2027 and several years afterward. Pebble Beach has a storied history, producing memorable champions like Tiger Woods and Gary Woodland.
Winged Foot will see the U.S. Open return in 2028, adding to its legacy, which includes Bryson DeChambeau‘s six-stroke victory in 2020. Pinehurst, another legendary location, will be featured in 2029, alongside its history of challenging green complexes.
The USGA is also preparing for the U.S. Women’s Open, which is set to take place at these historic locations, emphasizing their versatility and prestige. As preparations move forward, golf fans can look ahead to the unique experiences each venue offers.
In addition to venues already confirmed, the USGA will announce remaining host sites for some years, including 2043, 2045, 2046, and 2048, further shaping the future of this historic tournament.
