2025 U.s. Open Oakmont Country Club

OAKMONT, Pa. — The 125th U.S. Open is set to return to Oakmont Country Club in 2025, marking the venue’s record-setting hosting of the prestigious tournament. The event will take place from June 12 to 15, featuring a robust field of 156 competitors, including PGA Tour professionals and top amateurs.

This year’s tournament will emphasize an exciting mix of notable players and unknown talents. The event will kick off early on Thursday, with the first tee time slated for 6:45 a.m. ET. Defending champion Xander Schauffele and 2024 U.S. Amateur champion Jose Luis Ballester will lead off just before 7:30 a.m. Additionally, Masters champion Rory McIlroy is scheduled to tee off shortly after with fellow Irishman Shane Lowry and Justin Rose.

The afternoon session features a star-studded group, including former champions Jordan Spieth, Jon Rahm, and Dustin Johnson, who won the U.S. Open in 2016 at Oakmont. World No. 1 Scottie Scheffler will follow that group with his co-stars Collin Morikawa and Viktor Hovland.

As tradition dictates, Friday’s second round will see tee times reversed, so Thursday’s morning groups will play in the afternoon and vice versa. Each competitor will tee off from both the No. 1 and No. 10 holes during the first and second rounds.

Fans can catch all the action across various platforms, including NBC and USA Network, which will split coverage for the tournament. Monday’s lead-up to the championship promises intense moments as players navigate Oakmont’s notoriously challenging layout.

The purse for the U.S. Open is set at $21.4 million, with the winner’s share totaling $4.3 million. As the 2025 U.S. Open approaches, excitement is building around who will emerge as the next champion.
