Orioles Face Athletics in Historic Triple-A Home Game

SACRAMENTO, California — The Baltimore Orioles will play the Oakland Athletics tonight in a unique setting: Sutter Health Park, a Triple-A stadium previously home to the Sacramento River Cats.
This match marks the first time the Orioles have played at this temporary venue, as the Athletics await their new stadium’s completion in Las Vegas. The A’s will spend three seasons in Sacramento while their new home is under construction.
Fans can expect a high-scoring game; Sutter Health Park is currently one of the most hitter-friendly stadiums in Major League Baseball, with teams averaging 5.5 runs per game. The A’s, on the other hand, have struggled, holding an MLB-worst 5.79 earned run average (ERA).
Tonight’s starting pitcher for the Orioles, Dean Kremer, hails from nearby. Kremer has shown significant improvement, posting a 2.72 ERA in May and striking out seven in his last appearance. He will face off against A’s pitcher J.P. Sears, who has a 5.05 ERA.
Additionally, the game marks a notable family rivalry, as Ramón Urías will play against his brother, Luis Urías, who recently joined the A’s from the Brewers. Ramón Laureano is also making his return to the lineup after an ankle injury.
The Orioles hope to bounce back after losing to the Athletics in the series opener. Charlie Morton is expected to take the mound for Baltimore, and he aims to continue his recent success after winning his last two starts.
