Orioles Shift Home Opener Start Time Due to Storm Forecast

BALTIMORE, Maryland — The Baltimore Orioles have adjusted the start time of their home opener against the Boston Red Sox to 2:35 p.m. on Monday due to anticipated storms in the area. Fans are encouraged to be seated or tuned in by 2 p.m. for pregame activities.
The decision to move the start time up from the original 3:05 p.m. was made after a careful review of the weather forecast, which indicates a chance of thunderstorms developing later in the day. Parking lots will open at 11 a.m., with stadium gates opening at noon, allowing fans ample time to arrive before the game begins.
“We understand that weather can impact the game experience,” said Orioles spokesperson Jamie Phillips. “We’re hoping to beat the storms and provide our fans with a great home opener.”
The Baltimore area is expected to experience mild temperatures on Monday as well, with the forecast indicating highs around 77 degrees. However, as the day progresses, the chance of rain and thunderstorms increases, particularly during the evening hours.
In addition to the weather adjustments, the Orioles are hosting several pregame festivities to enhance the fan experience. Fans can anticipate entertainment, including live music and appearances from former players, starting two hours before the game.
“It’s shaping up to be a wonderful day for baseball,” said long-time Orioles fan Marcus Levy. “I’m excited to see the guys in action and hope we can cheer on a home victory.”
The Orioles, coming off a competitive season, are hopeful for a robust start to the year as they face the Red Sox in their first home game. With expectations high, fans are eager to support the team in what promises to be an exciting matchup.
The team is preparing for a robust fan turnout, as Baltimore has a rich baseball tradition and loyal supporters. “Rain or shine, we’ll be there to cheer on our team,” added Levy.
As the city gears up for the home opener, it remains to be seen how the weather will impact the event. Fans are reminded to check updates as the day approaches.
