Orlando Magic Rally Late to Defeat Brooklyn Nets 105-98
ORLANDO, Fla. — The Orlando Magic finished strong with an 11-0 run in the final 1:49 of the game, defeating the Brooklyn Nets 105-98 on Friday night. This victory marks Orlando’s third consecutive win and improves their record to 7-6, while Brooklyn falls to 1-11.
Orlando outscored Brooklyn 26-16 in the fourth quarter, with key contributions from Desmond Bane (9 points), Franz Wagner (8 points), and Jalen Suggs (4 points), who collectively propelled the Magic to the win.
The game saw Orlando overcome a 98-94 deficit after a basket from Brooklyn’s starter. Wagner hit two clutch 3-pointers and da Silva added another, locking Brooklyn out of scoring for the remainder of the game.
Wagner, who finished with 22 points and nine rebounds, played a pivotal role in the victory alongside Bane, who scored 25 points. Suggs added 14 points, seven rebounds, and six assists, further solidifying Orlando’s hold on the game.
Brooklyn’s best performer, Mikal Bridges, managed 24 points and 11 rebounds, but the team’s shooting woes continued as they struggled after an early lead. The Nets were up 53-37 in the second quarter, aided by their 3-point shooting, but later made only four of 29 attempts from beyond the arc.
Orlando’s defense improved notably, especially in the second half, as they aggressively capitalized on Brooklyn’s turnovers to turn the tide of the game. Da Silva, starting for the first time this season, made significant impacts before he fouled out late in the fourth quarter.
Looking ahead, the Nets will face the Washington Wizards on Sunday, while the Magic will travel to Houston.
