Ospreys Players Meet Young Squirrels in Cape Town School Visit
During their visit to Somerset West Methodist Primary in Cape Town, players from the Ospreys rugby team were met with an unexpected challenge – a spirited haka performed by the fearless ‘Squirrels‘.
The visit was part of the United Rugby Championship’s Communities United campaign, with players including Justin Tipuric, Tom Botha, Owen Williams, and Gareth Thomas engaging with the young students.
As they prepare for their upcoming Vodacom URC match against the DHL Stormers at the DHL Stadium, the Ospreys players took the time to connect with the local community and inspire the young rugby enthusiasts.
Notably, Somerset West Methodist Primary holds significance in the rugby world as it played a key role in the early development of Springbok and Stormers star Damian Willemse, who was mentored by coach Winston Baard at the school.
