Paarl Royals Secure Victory Over Pretoria Capitals in SA T20 Clash
A dominating performance by Andile Phehlukwayo led the Paarl Royals to a convincing 27-run victory over the Pretoria Capitals in an exciting Betway SA T20 match at Boland Park in Paarl.
The Capitals elected to field first after winning the toss, and the Royals set a competitive total of 160-7 in their allotted 20 overs. Captain David Miller contributed a solid 41 runs, while Phehlukwayo and Mitchell Van Buuren each scored 28 runs.
Daryn Dupavillon and Corbin Bosch from the Capitals bowled impressively, taking 2 wickets each. West Indian all-rounder Fabian Allen struggled with the bat, managing just 5 runs.
In their chase, the Capitals could only muster 133-7 in their 20 overs. Phil Salt, who showcased his skills against the West Indies during the recent T20I series against England, was the top-scorer for the Capitals with 39 runs, followed by Rilee Rossouw with 29 runs and Captain James Neesham with 21 runs.
Phehlukwayo shone with the ball as well, picking up 2 wickets for 29 runs in his four overs. West Indian bowler Obed McCoy also contributed with a wicket, conceding 26 runs in his four overs.
