Pacers’ Tyrese Haliburton Confident Despite Injury Ahead of Game 3

INDIANAPOLIS — Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton downplayed concerns over a leg injury as the team prepares for Game 3 of the NBA Finals against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
After practice on Tuesday, Haliburton addressed the issue, stating he is dealing with “a lower leg thing” but feels fine and is ready for Wednesday night’s game in Indianapolis. “I don’t think there’s anything more to elaborate,” he said.
Haliburton had a noticeable limp when he left the postgame news conference following the Pacers’ 123-107 loss to the Thunder in Game 2, where he scored 17 points. Coach Rick Carlisle acknowledged Haliburton’s discomfort but expressed confidence in his ability to play. “He feels it. But each day it’s getting better. I don’t think you’re going to hear him making a big deal out of it,” Carlisle said.
Despite his injury, Haliburton is focused on improving his game. He is currently averaging 15.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 6.0 assists in the Finals but admitted he needs to perform better in the first halves to help the Pacers avoid early deficits.
“I feel like I haven’t been great by any means the first two games. I’m just trying to take what I can to prepare for Game 3, just trying to be the best version of myself,” Haliburton said.
The Pacers enter Game 3 with the series tied at 1-1. Fans are hopeful for a better performance at Gainbridge Fieldhouse, which has seen a strong home crowd throughout the playoffs. Game 3 is scheduled to tip off at 8:30 p.m. ET, marking the first Finals game held at the venue since 2000.
As the Pacers prepare to take the court, Haliburton’s determination to push through his injury could be a key factor in regaining momentum in the series.
