GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers selected defensive lineman Warren Brinson from the University of Georgia with the No. 198 overall pick in the sixth round of the 2025 NFL Draft on Saturday.

Brinson, who stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 315 pounds, played five seasons with the Bulldogs. He became a part-time starter over the last two years, marking his emergence during Georgia’s national championship defense in 2022 with 14 quarterback hits.

In 25 games during the past two seasons, Brinson recorded four sacks and nine tackles for loss, including a standout performance in the SEC championship game against Texas, where he recorded a sack and 2½ tackles for loss.

He clocked a time of 5.09 seconds in the 40-yard dash at the scouting combine and achieved a 31-inch vertical jump.

Throughout his collegiate career, Brinson’s role evolved, starting strictly as an interior defensive lineman before transitioning to defensive end and third-down specialty roles.

“Warren brings a unique versatility to our defensive front,” said Packers general manager Brian Gutekunst. “He has shown the ability to excel at various positions and can make a difference in our defense.”

Brinson faced challenges during his final season with injuries but still managed to set career highs in tackles (26) and tackles for loss (six) while recording two sacks. After initially considering entering the 2024 NFL Draft, he chose to utilize his last year of eligibility instead.

His dedication and performance at Georgia have set the stage for what the Packers hope will be a strong start to his professional career.
