GREEN BAY, Wis. — The Green Bay Packers have re-signed linebacker Isaiah McDuffie to a two-year contract valued at $8 million, with potential incentives increasing the total to $9.5 million, ESPN reported Monday.

The announcement comes after a strong performance by McDuffie last season, where he started all 17 games and recorded a career-high 94 tackles, with 43 being solo stops. His defensive stats also included three tackles for loss, three quarterback hits, a sack, and a forced fumble, establishing him as a key contributor on the team.

Originally drafted in the sixth round by Green Bay in 2021 out of Boston College, McDuffie has emerged as a vital player on both defense and special teams. He has accumulated 228 tackles and one sack over 63 career games, with 26 starts.

Current Packers defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, who coached McDuffie in college, praised his perseverance. “You talk about these guys going through it, talk about what’s right about the sport. I love that guy,” Hafley remarked, referencing McDuffie’s ability to play through injuries.

Anthony Campanile, the former linebackers coach who is now the defensive coordinator for the Jacksonville Jaguars, echoed Hafley’s sentiments, emphasizing McDuffie’s reliability on the field. “He’s a guy you can count on, and I would echo what Jeff says, he is what’s right with football. It’s still about being tough, doing your job, and he’s going to come to practice 1,000 miles an hour,” Campanile said.

The Packers shifted to a 4-3 defensive scheme under Hafley in 2024, and they are optimistic about their prospects with McDuffie alongside potential stars like rookie Eric Wilson, who made a significant impact last season as well.

McDuffie and Wilson were both scheduled to become free agents next week. Wilson is yet to re-sign with the team.
