MIAMI, Fla. — Paddy Pimblett is shaking up the lightweight division in the lead-up to UFC 314, where he will face former title contender Michael Chandler this Saturday at the Kaseya Center.

With a victory over Chandler, Pimblett hopes to secure a more prominent position in the division, building on his impressive nine-fight winning streak. Before joining the UFC, Pimblett was a well-known figure in the MMA scene, and he continues to seek opportunities to enhance his legacy.

Despite Chandler’s notable experience, Pimblett believes he is ready for his toughest challenge yet. Just days before their highly anticipated clash, Pimblett ignited a dispute with lightweight contender Arman Tsarukyan, who withdrew from a recent fight against another opponent.

Pimblett expressed his frustrations on the Full Send Podcast, accusing Tsarukyan of not being seriously injured and alleging that he “s— his pants” before the fight. “The only fighter in the top 10 that’s under 35 is Arman Tsarukyan, and he’s just a little posh boy who’s had everything handed to him,” Pimblett said.

In response, Tsarukyan, acknowledging Pimblett’s comments, challenged him, saying, “Says the guy who got the easiest path to the top in the UFC just because he’s got a funny accent. I dare you to call me out if you win.”

As fans gear up for UFC 314, concerns have arisen about Pimblett’s physical condition. Footage surfaced showing the fighter with visibly swollen knuckles, causing some to question his readiness for the fight.

“Paddy’s hands are grotesque. They look super inflamed,” commented one fan on social media. Another chimed in, noting the apparent injury and suggesting it could affect his performance when facing Chandler.

Pimblett addressed these concerns during UFC 314 media engagements, emphasizing that he is aware of the potential for underhanded tactics from Chandler, stating, “He’s the nicest man in the world outside the cage, and when he gets in there, he’s a dirty b—– ain’t he?”

He urged that a veteran referee be assigned to their bout, insisting on vigilance against any unethical fighting practices. Pampy concluded, “If he’s going to grab my gloves or poke me in the eye, I hope I’ve got a good ref who won’t let me get punched in the back of the head.”

The main event, headlined by Alexander Volkanovski and Diego Lopes for the vacant featherweight title, is expected to be a highlight of the evening, further putting into perspective the stakes for Pimblett and Chandler’s matchup.

UFC 314 promises high stakes for several fighters, including former champions and rising stars. With the spotlight on both Pimblett and Chandler, fans can expect an electrifying atmosphere as they support their favorites.
