Palmeiras Vs Bolívar Copa Libertadores

La Paz, Bolivia – Palmeiras will face Bolívar on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 7 p.m. (Brasília time) for the third round of Group G in the Copa Libertadores. The match will take place at the Estadio Hernando Siles, situated at an altitude of 3,650 meters above sea level.

Bolívar enters the match with six games already played this season, having won three straight matches, including games in the Bolivian League and the Libertadores. They currently sit in second place in Group G with three points, trailing Palmeiras, who has a perfect record of six points from two matches.

Palmeiras arrives in Bolivia after a strong run, boasting six consecutive victories. They aim to maintain their unbeaten streak in the group stage and extend their lead at the top of the table.

Ramiro Vaca, the vice-top scorer in the Libertadores with four goals, is expected to be the key player for Bolívar. However, defender José Sagredo is uncertain to play due to a recent muscle issue.

The likely starting lineup for Bolívar includes Lanzillotta, Rocha, Quinteros, Jairo Quinteros, and Luiz Paz in defense. The midfield is set with Justiniano, Robson, and Ramiro Vaca, while Tonino Melgar, Pato Rodríguez, and Fábio Gomes will lead the attack.

Palmeiras coach Abel Ferreira will have to make adjustments since Micael and Richard Ríos did not travel due to injuries. Vitor Roque is also out, but Paulinho returns from a previous rest and may start.

The anticipated lineup for Palmeiras features Weverton in goal, with a defense of Giay, Gustavo Gómez, Bruno Fuchs, and Piquerez. Aníbal Moreno, Emiliano Martínez, and Felipe Anderson will likely make up the midfield, while Estêvão, Paulinho, and Flaco López are expected in the forward positions.

Historically, Palmeiras has had the upper hand in their six previous encounters in the Libertadores, with four wins and two losses – both of which occurred in La Paz. Bolívar has proven tough at home, winning 12 of their last 14 matches in the competition.

“We know the difficulties of playing in La Paz,” said Richard Ríos, who is unable to join the team. “The altitude and speed of the ball are challenges that require adaptation.”
