CHARLOTTE, N.C. — The Carolina Panthers are set for a busy offseason as they look to bolster their roster, primarily focusing on defense while also seeking to enhance their receiving corps for quarterback Bryce Young. With limited salary cap space, the team may need to consider strategic trades rather than high-priced free agents.

One intriguing option that has surfaced is wide receiver Romeo Doubs of the Green Bay Packers. According to Jaren Kawada of ClutchPoints, Doubs has been identified as a potential offseason release due to his inconsistent performance and dissatisfaction with his role in the team.

“Like most of Green Bay’s skill players, Doubs is still on his rookie contract,” Kawada wrote. “He is owed just over $1 million in 2025, barely affecting the team’s cap. Yet, both sides would mutually benefit from a change of scenery.”

Doubs, 24, caught 46 passes for 601 yards and four touchdowns last season. Although he has not yet cemented his status as a premier receiver, experts believe he still possesses significant potential to thrive under the right circumstances.

While it’s unlikely Doubs will be released—given his age and trade value—he may be available to the right team at the appropriate price. As the Panthers are on the hunt for more offensive talent, pursuing Doubs could be a worthwhile endeavor.

“The Panthers have a pressing need for more talent at the receiver position,” noted an NFL analyst. “With Adam Thielen aging and Xavier Legette struggling during his rookie campaign, Carolina must look for reliable options. Doubs could provide an opportunity for a fresh start.”

Both the Panthers and Doubs could greatly benefit from a transaction, marking a significant opportunity for Carolina as they strive to support Young in his development as a starting quarterback.

As the offseason progresses, it remains to be seen how aggressive the Panthers will be in their pursuit of Doubs, but it’s clear that all options will be considered as they work to improve their roster capability.
