Panthers Set for Stanley Cup Final Rematch Against Oilers

NEW YORK — The National Hockey League announced today the schedule for the 2025 Stanley Cup Final. The rematch will feature the Eastern Conference Champion Florida Panthers against the Western Conference Champion Edmonton Oilers, starting Wednesday, June 4.
Due to their higher regular-season point total, the Oilers will host Games 1 and 2, along with Games 5 and 7 if necessary. Meanwhile, the Panthers will play host to Games 3 and 4 and Game 6 if required. All games are set to start at 8 p.m. ET, with broadcasts available on TNT, truTV, and Max in the U.S., and on Sportsnet, CBC, and TVA Sports in Canada.
Media Day is scheduled for Tuesday, June 3, leading up to the final series. The full schedule for media availabilities on that day will be released soon.

The Panthers have advanced to the Final despite not having home-ice advantage in any of their prior three series. This has become a more common feat in recent years, with the Panthers themselves reaching this stage last season, along with the Lightning in 2022 and the Canadiens in 2021.
“Congrats and respect to Florida. You have a great team,” said Carolina Hurricanes‘ fan Zach K. “Now we’ve got to leverage that cap space to finally get the Cup back to North Carolina.”
With their victory over the Hurricanes, the Panthers hope to secure back-to-back titles. They would become just the third team since the 2006 salary cap era to achieve this, joining the Penguins and Lightning as repeat champions.
Carter Verhaeghe’s go-ahead goal in the third period marked his third career series-clinching goal. Sam Bennett also made headlines by becoming the first player to hit the 10-goal mark this postseason.
This will mark the Panthers’ third consecutive trip to the Stanley Cup Final. Their franchise’s history includes four playoff series victories in the first 28 years, and they have won 10 series in the past three years.
The opposing coaches, Rod Brind'Amour and Paul Maurice, maintain a respectful posture as they lead their teams into the Finals, creating a competitive but sportsmanlike atmosphere. Carolina’s fans continue to support their team passionately, creating a vibrant environment at Lenovo Center.
The Panthers are poised for the challenge ahead, with a focus on claiming their second consecutive championship.
