Panthers Sign Former Raiders Receiver Hunter Renfrow

CHARLOTTE — The Carolina Panthers bolstered their receiving corps by signing former Las Vegas Raiders wide receiver Hunter Renfrow on Sunday night, just after the NFL draft. The move brings Renfrow, a proven pass-catcher, back to the league after a year away.
Renfrow, 29, established himself as a reliable slot receiver during his four seasons with the Raiders. In 2021, he recorded 103 receptions for 1,038 yards and nine touchdowns, a breakout campaign that followed a solid but quieter first two seasons. Over five seasons, Renfrow accumulated a total of 269 catches, 2,884 yards, and 17 touchdowns.
The Myrtle Beach, South Carolina native began his career as a walk-on at Clemson University. He gained national attention when he caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the 2017 National Championship Game against Alabama. He also played a pivotal role in the 2016 title game, scoring two touchdowns despite a loss. Renfrow was part of the 2018 championship team and received the Burlsworth Trophy the same year, awarded to the top college player who started as a walk-on.
With the Panthers, Renfrow will join an evolving roster that includes undrafted players and first-round picks as they look to strengthen their offensive lineup. His experience and success make him a valuable addition as the Panthers prepare for the upcoming season.
