Paris FC Offers Unique Viewing Experience for Fans Ahead of Crucial Match

PARIS (AP) — Paris FC is ensuring that no fans miss out on a critical match that could secure their promotion to France’s top soccer league. The club invited supporters to watch Friday’s game against Martigues at the Grand Rex, a famous concert hall in Paris.
Currently sitting in second place in Ligue 2, Paris FC is poised to earn promotion with a victory. However, the match takes place approximately 800 kilometers (500 miles) away in Martigues, where tickets for away fans are limited.
In an effort to encourage local fans, the club arranged for the game to be screened on multiple large screens at the Grand Rex, which features a maximum capacity of 2,700 seats. “Paris FC invites you to share in a unique evening,” the club announced on Wednesday. “Rendez-vous to support our players against Martigues on a giant screen. We await you (wearing) blue and white to experience this penultimate round of the season together.”
As news of the event spread, fans reacted positively. Grand Rex is well-located in the bustling Grands Boulevards area, surrounded by restaurants and bars, and near the iconic République square. The venue, which opened in 1932, recently underwent renovations and was restored to celebrate its 90th anniversary.
Paris FC is driven by new ambitions following its acquisition by the Arnault family, known as France’s richest. This newfound financial backing could position Paris FC as a future competitor to the Qatari-owned Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).
The potential promotion would enhance the soccer landscape in Paris, aligning it with other major European cities like Madrid, Rome, and Barcelona.
