Eight-time PGA TOUR winner Patrick Cantlay has made significant equipment adjustments leading up to the 2024 U.S. Open, showcasing his dedication to finding the best tools for success on the course.

Earlier in the year, Cantlay surprised fans with a switch to Ping irons, deviating from his long-standing Titleist 718 AP2 set that had seen him through numerous victories on the PGA TOUR.

However, at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday, Cantlay decided to revert to his trusted Titleist 718 AP2 irons, featuring custom grinds on the leading edges tailored to his precise preferences for impact.

Aside from the iron switch, Cantlay engaged in thorough driver testing at Pinehurst, weighing the pros and cons between his older TSR2 model and a newer, unreleased Titleist GT2 driver.

Following the testing process, Cantlay took to Instagram to showcase his preference for the Titleist GT2 driver, showcasing his confidence in the new equipment as he competes at the 2024 U.S. Open at Pinehurst No. 2.

Titleist’s GT2 driver has been gaining popularity among PGA TOUR pros for its enhanced distance, consistent spin rates, and improved sound quality, as reported by Titleist Tour representative J.J. Van Wezenbeeck during the U.S. Open.

As Cantlay aims to secure his first major championship victory, these equipment adjustments reflect his commitment to staying at the top of his game and maximizing his chances for success on the challenging Pinehurst course.
