Patriots Release Six Players After Recent Draft

FOXBOROUGH, Mass. – The New England Patriots announced today that they have released six players in a series of roster cuts following the NFL Draft. The players released are offensive lineman Jake Andrews, defensive lineman Marcus Harris, receiver JaQuae Jackson, linebacker Titus Leo, safety Mark Perry, and tight end Giovanni Ricci.
Jake Andrews, 25, was a fourth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft and played in 16 games with one start. He spent the entire 2024 season on injured reserve due to injury issues. The drafting of center Jared Wilson and the return of veterans like Garrett Bradbury made his chances of remaining on the team slim.
Marcus Harris, 24, joined the Patriots practice squad in October 2024. The 6-foot-2, 298-pound defensive lineman was a seventh-round pick by the Houston Texans in 2024 and had a college career that included 125 tackles and 11 sacks.
JaQuae Jackson, 25, was signed in June 2024 after being released by the Atlanta Falcons. He spent the 2024 season on injured reserve, unable to showcase his potential as a promising receiver.
Titus Leo, 25, was added to the Patriots’ roster from the Indianapolis practice squad in November 2024. The linebacker played in four games for New England but managed just one tackle.
Mark Perry, 23, joined the practice squad in September 2024 after a brief stint with the Miami Dolphins. The TCU product has faced challenges in securing a roster spot.
Giovanni Ricci, 28, signed with the Patriots on a futures contract in February 2025. He previously played with the Carolina Panthers but spent last season out of football after being released by the Cleveland Browns.
The roster moves come just days after the Patriots selected 11 new players in the draft, securing positions to strengthen their lineup, including offensive tackle Will Campbell from LSU at No. 4 overall.
