Pittsburgh Penguins Vs Boston Bruins Hockey Game

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — The Pittsburgh Penguins continue their three-game homestand this Saturday, March 1, as they host the Boston Bruins at PPG Paints Arena. Puck drop is scheduled for 3:00 PM, with doors opening at 1:30 PM. Fans can watch the game on ABC and ESPN+ or listen on 105.9 the X and the Penguins app.

The Penguins, with a season record of 24-27-9, are looking to improve their standing against the Bruins, who have a record of 27-25-8. Pittsburgh has accumulated points in 10 of their last 14 home games against Boston, dating back to December 14, 2016, with a 9-4-1 record during that stretch.

Coach Mike Sullivan‘s squad is in a pivotal stretch of their schedule, playing five of six games at home from February 22 to March 2. Following the Bruins matchup, the team will embark on a three-game road trip to the West.

In addition to the highly anticipated game, all fans in attendance will receive a Team Yearbook, thanks to Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Recent statistics show that Pittsburgh has points in three of its last five home games, boasting a 2-2-1 record. This season, the Penguins have found a measure of success against Atlantic Division rivals, holding a record of 9-4-5. With another chance at securing important points in the standings, the stakes couldn’t be higher for both teams.

As the Penguins hit the ice today, individual players are also making headlines. Rickard Rakell has been particularly impressive, contributing 17 points (8G-9A) in 20 games against the Bruins. Danton Heinen has also seen increased contributions, recording four points (1G-3A) in his last five games, including a solid performance against Philadelphia on Thursday.

“We need to take each game one at a time,” Rakell said. “This is a crucial point in the season, and every point matters.”

Star player Evgeni Malkin enters today’s contest tied for fourth in the league in points since returning from the 4 Nations break, scoring seven points in the last four games. His recent performance includes a game-tying goal and an overtime winner in the previous game against Philadelphia.

With a chance to make history looming, Head Coach Mike Sullivan currently stands one win shy of becoming the 14th head coach in NHL history to reach 400 wins with a single franchise. “We’re focused on what we need to do as a team to support each other,” Sullivan said.

As the fans rally behind their team, anticipation builds for what promises to be an electrifying matchup. The Penguins look to capitalize on their home advantage while seeking consistency as the season edges closer to postseason contention.

Pittsburgh fans are hopeful that tonight’s performance can turn around a rocky few weeks and spark a late-season surge towards playoff readiness. Every game is pivotal, and with the home crowd behind them, the Penguins aim to claim another victory against a formidable Bruins side.
