Pittsburgh Penguins Vs Ottawa Senators 2025

The Pittsburgh Penguins (18-17-8) face the Ottawa Senators (19-18-3) in a pivotal NHL matchup at PPG Paints Arena on Saturday, January 10, 2025. Puck drop is scheduled for 4 PM, with doors opening at 2:30 PM. The game marks the Penguins’ fifth consecutive home game, as they aim to build momentum following a recent 5-3 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.

The Penguins enter the game with points in 15 of their last 19 matchups against the Senators, dating back to March 23, 2017. Despite dropping their last two home games against Ottawa, Pittsburgh holds a strong 13-2-1 record in their last 16 home games against the Senators. Captain Sidney Crosby, who recently moved up NHL record lists with a three-point performance against Edmonton, is just one goal shy of tying Bobby Hull for the sixth-most goals with one franchise in NHL history.

The first 7,500 fans in attendance will receive a Jaromir Jagr bobblehead, presented by PPG. PensGear will also offer in-arena exclusive shirts, starting with Jagr’s design, available at gates opening. Mario Lemieux‘s exclusive shirt will be available on March 11.

The Penguins’ power play has been a key factor in their recent success, scoring in seven of their last eight games. Rickard Rakell leads the team with 21 goals this season, while Erik Karlsson has been a standout on defense, recording 12 points in his last 11 games. Bryan Rust has historically performed well against Ottawa, with 19 points in 21 career games against the Senators.

As part of the Penguins Pledge, the National Aviary will bring live penguin ambassadors to PPG Paints Arena, highlighting conservation efforts for endangered African Penguins. Additionally, the team’s sixth annual Hockey Talks game will feature mental health organizations and fundraising initiatives to support the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation‘s mental health programs.
