Penn State Football Hosts Northwestern for 105th Homecoming Game

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – No. RV/22 Penn State football will face Northwestern on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. for their annual homecoming game, which will be aired on FS1.
This matchup marks the 22nd meeting between the two teams, with Penn State leading the series 16-5, including a 9-2 record at home. Last season, the Nittany Lions defeated the Wildcats 41-13 in Evanston.
Penn State’s homecoming history is robust, with a record of 75-24-5 in homecoming games. The Nittany Lions have won 16 of their last 19 homecoming contests, having secured a 21-7 victory against Illinois last year.
The Nittany Lions’ defense has been highlighted by linebacker Amare Campbell, who recently achieved his second double-digit tackle game of the season with 10 tackles against UCLA, including 2.5 tackles for loss. He leads the team with 47 tackles this season, averaging 9.4 tackles per game.
In a standout moment, defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton blocked a punt last week against UCLA, which was returned for a touchdown, marking a significant achievement for the team and the first returned block since 2012.
Northwestern enters this game with a 3-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in Big Ten play after a commanding 42-7 win against UL Monroe. The Wildcats amassed 515 total yards in that victory, showcasing their offensive capabilities.
Penn State fans are encouraged to arrive early, as the homecoming festivities will begin ahead of the kick-off, and they should stay updated on game day traffic through the Penn State Athletics Mobile App.
Saturday’s game is crucial for both teams as they aim to secure a win. As the Nittany Lions prepare to defend their home turf, they look to regain momentum and uphold their strong homecoming tradition.
