Penn State Nittany Lions Welcome New Recruit Amid Exciting Changes

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — The Penn State Nittany Lions added a significant player to their receiver lineup on Monday. Richmond, Virginia‘s Trinity Episcopal School standout, a Top247 prospect, has committed to the Nittany Lions. The 6-foot-3, 185-pound receiver plans to officially visit the campus in June.
During his impressive junior season, Brown showcased his ability to make big plays, recording 42 receptions for 946 yards and 10 touchdowns in just eight games. Brown expressed his excitement about his commitment, stating, “It felt like home and it was just the place I wanted to be.” He recognized the Nittany Lions’ need for receivers, especially after their struggles during the College Football Playoff.
Brown pointed out that the coaching staff’s discussions about his potential impact on the team were important in his decision. “You just want to get to a place where they can develop me, get coached, and be the right fit for that culture,” he said. “I see me impacting them in a good way. I’m just ready to get there and work.”
Penn State had been recruiting Brown seriously since they offered him a scholarship in October 2022. He had developed a strong relationship with receivers coach and made several visits to the campus. “(Hagans) is a well-respected guy. He tells you the truth and really believes in me,” Brown said, emphasizing the importance of having a coaching staff that supports him.
Brown’s commitment follows the addition of Jahseiar Rogers from Appoquinimink High School in Delaware and Lavar Keys from DeMatha Catholic High School in Maryland, as Penn State works to enhance its receiver corps. Brown is currently the third-highest ranked recruit in the Nittany Lions’ 2026 class, which also includes top-100 recruits such as a safety from Fort Cherry and an offensive lineman from Harrisburg.
Meanwhile, former Nittany Lions quarterback Howard is set to play in a pivotal game, reflecting on past challenges against Penn State. He recalled the emotional weight of a previous victory over the Nittany Lions, saying, “Going into that game, I was very mentally — I put a lot of pressure on myself. I didn’t play well that day, but we willed ourselves to win.” Howard, a three-star recruit who signed with Kansas State after high school, described his bittersweet recollections of Penn State’s recruitment process.
Howard’s journey culminated in a triumph over Penn State, contributing to Ohio State‘s berth in the College Football Playoff, a victory he cherishes. “I definitely held those feelings. I didn’t forget them,” he remarked.
Penn State continues its recruiting efforts, focusing on enhancing their linebacker position as well. The Nittany Lions recently secured a commitment from Lamah, known for his impactful play as an inside linebacker. Lamah, a 6-foot-3, 235-pound prospect, expressed confidence in fitting into Penn State’s defensive needs.
In his junior season, Lamah was recognized for making 87 tackles with impressive physicality on the field. He carried 20 college offers, with notable interest from Michigan, Kentucky, and Virginia Tech. Analysts praise Lamah’s potential contributions, particularly on special teams, as he transitions to the college level.
Penn State has been proactive in strengthening its roster and is set to continue exploring recruitment opportunities to enhance their team leading into the upcoming seasons.
