Percy Tau Denies Al Ahly Exit Rumors, Focused On Afcon

South African international Percy Tau has addressed the ongoing rumors surrounding his potential departure from Al Ahly, asserting that the information is incorrect.

The talented winger’s future with the Egyptian giants has been subject to speculation recently, with reports linking him to a return to his former club, Mamelodi Sundowns, or a move back to Europe.

Tau, 29, is currently representing the national team, Bafana Bafana, at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) being held in Ivory Coast. The team is aiming to reach the semi-finals for the first time in 24 years.

Tau dismissed the exit rumors, emphasizing his commitment to his current contract with Al Ahly while stating his sole focus is on contributing to Bafana Bafana’s success at the ongoing AFCON.

“That one I don’t know, it’s something that’s been written in the media because it’s incorrect,” Tau clarified.

“I’m not gonna get involved in it and I don’t know who started it. I’m not gonna go further in that one.

“They must just get the right news and correct it. I don’t know who started this because it’s incorrect, I still have a contract that I have with the team and still have to respect at the moment!

“The focus is on the AFCON and trying to do something special here.”
