Peshawar Zalmi Dominates Islamabad United in PSL Clash

Lahore, Pakistan – Peshawar Zalmi won against Islamabad United by six wickets in the 22nd match of the Pakistan Super League on May 2, 2025.
Zalmi chased down a target of 144 runs, scoring 147 for four in 16.4 overs. They capitalized on a strong bowling performance that limited Islamabad United to 143 runs, with Mohammad Ali taking three wickets for just 26 runs.
Farhan, who scored 36 runs, and Dwarshuis, who contributed 33 runs, were the only notable scores for Islamabad. The United struggled early on, losing wickets at regular intervals.
After a shaky start, losing three quick wickets, Zalmi turned the game around with a solid partnership between Maaz Sadaqat and Babar Azam. Sadaqat scored 55 runs, while Babar remained not out at 53. Their partnership of 102 runs steadied the innings.
Late in the innings, Babar regained his form, hitting impressive boundaries, including a six over mid-off. This helped Zalmi keep the required run rate manageable despite early setbacks.
After losing the toss, Zalmi’s bowlers stepped up, with each of the four frontline bowlers conceding only between 26 and 29 runs. Their excellent execution put pressure on United from the start.
