Philadelphia Union Vs Orlando City Mls Match 2025

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. — Philadelphia Union will host Orlando City at Subaru Park on Saturday night, aiming for a much-needed win to regain momentum in the 2025 Major League Soccer season. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. ET and marks a crucial test for both teams.

After suffering a 2-1 defeat to Inter Miami last weekend, the Union are looking to secure their first back-to-back home win since October. Coach Jim Curtin‘s side started the season strong but has stumbled recently, posting a 1-2 record over their last three matches. Despite the setbacks, they still sit second in the Eastern Conference, just one point behind leaders Inter Miami.

“We need to convert more of our chances,” said Gazdag, who scored in the team’s previous defeat. “We know we can play better, and we’re hungry for a victory.”

In contrast, Orlando City is coming off consecutive victories, including a comeback win against LA Galaxy last time out. With this current positive momentum, they sit 12th in the Eastern Conference but are eager to keep climbing the standings. The team is keen to make it three wins in a row for the first time this season.

“It’s important for us to build on our recent performances and keep the momentum going,” said Orlando City coach Oscar Pareja. “We have a solid plan and need to execute it well against a tough opponent.”

Both teams have had injury concerns heading into the match. Philadelphia will be missing defender Jakob Glesnes due to an abdominal strain. Orlando City has a few key injuries of their own, including the offensive duo of Facundo Torres and Ezequiel Barco, who are sidelined with knee and thigh injuries, respectively.

Philadelphia’s likely lineup includes goalkeeper Andre Blake, defenders Harriel, Glesnes, and Westfield, with Gazdag, Baribo, and Uhre leading the attack. Orlando City is expected to counter with Gallese in goal, Freeman, Jansson, Schlegel, and Santos on defense, and an offensive front featuring Pasalic, Ojeda, and Muriel.

The last meeting between these two teams saw Philadelphia claim a 4-2 victory in February, and they hope to replicate that performance this weekend. Orlando City, however, has been a tough competitor at Subaru Park, remaining unbeaten in five of their last seven visits.

The match will be critical for both teams as they seek to establish themselves in the playoff race early in the season, making this a must-watch encounter for MLS fans.
