Philippine Men’s National Football Team Gears Up for King’s Cup in Thailand
The Philippine Men’s National Football Team (PMNFT) is set to begin its journey in the King's Cup tournament this Friday. The competition will take place at the Tinsulanon Stadium in Thailand, and includes teams from Thailand, Syria, and Tajikistan alongside the Philippines.
Albert Capellas, head coach of the PMNFT, addressed the media ahead of the opening match against host nation Thailand. He expressed his awareness of the challenges posed by the Thai squad. According to Capellas, Thailand is a formidable opponent, possessing skilled players who are exceptionally organized both in defense and attack.
“From what I’ve scouted, they (Thailand) are a very good team with good players – dangerous players in front, and good organization in defense and in attack. I’m sure it’ll be a tough game for us,” Capellas commented during a press conference. Despite the evident challenge, Capellas remains optimistic about his team’s prospects.
“We’ll have to play a very good game to get a result,” he stated. “But I think we are coming with a very good squad. And we will do our best to make it as difficult as possible for them. I’m really looking forward to playing Thailand,” Capellas added. This match will mark his debut as the team’s head coach.
The King’s Cup tournament is a significant event, drawing participation from national teams that are keen to test their prowess on an international stage. The PMNFT aims to make a strong impression during the competition, with updates on their lineup and performance expected as the tournament progresses.
