Phoenix Suns 2024 Lineup

The Phoenix Suns have solidified their starting lineup for the upcoming season by including newly signed Tyus Jones as the starting point guard. This decision was confirmed by the team on the eve of their preseason finale against the Los Angeles Lakers. Head Coach Mike Budenholzer, in his first year with the Suns, has been keen on this lineup configuration since the acquisition of Jones in late July.

Jones will join an impressive roster featuring Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Kevin Durant, and Jusuf Nurkic. Nurkic, who had been sidelined during the initial preseason games with a finger injury, is now cleared to participate. Meanwhile, Booker has returned after missing two games due to ankle soreness. Durant and Beal also sat out the previous game against the Denver Nuggets for rest purposes.

While the interim absence of the key players allowed others such as Ryan Dunn, Monte Morris, and Royce O'Neale to make notable contributions, the primary focus remains on integrating Jones with the rest of the starting lineup. “Getting as many reps as possible with the new point guard alongside our main guys is crucial,” a team insider noted.

Jones replaces Grayson Allen, who has been moved to a sixth-man role. This shift is anticipated to enhance both the team’s on-court versatility and its depth. Last season, the lineup had moments of strong performance, yet struggled during critical phases.

The Suns are set to kick off their regular season next Wednesday against the Los Angeles Clippers at the new Intuit Dome. This will be followed by their home debut for the 2024-25 season against the Dallas Mavericks on October 26.
