Pistons’ Malik Beasley Trolls Knicks Fan After Crunch-Time Victory
NEW YORK — Detroit Pistons guard Malik Beasley had the last laugh Tuesday night after a crucial road victory against the New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden. Beasley, known for his sharpshooting, took to Instagram to humorously call out a vocal Knicks fan following his game-changing performance.
Posting a photo of his clutch fourth-quarter shot, Beasley circled a fan in the crowd who had been particularly outspoken throughout the game. “Goodnight,” he captioned the image, playfully rubbing in the Pistons’ 112-108 win.
Beasley, who came off the bench for just under 18 minutes, made the most of his time on the court. The veteran guard scored 22 points, including nine in the fourth quarter, on 6-of-13 shooting. He was particularly lethal from beyond the arc, sinking six of eight three-point attempts. Alongside Cade Cunningham, who contributed 18 points, Beasley helped secure the Pistons’ second victory over the Knicks this season.
“Malik was huge for us tonight,” Pistons head coach Monty Williams said after the game. “His ability to stretch the floor and knock down shots in critical moments gave us the edge we needed.”
The Pistons led for most of the game, though the Knicks briefly regained the lead at halftime. Detroit’s defense tightened in the final minutes, holding New York to just 20 points in the fourth quarter. Beasley’s late-game heroics, including a contested three-pointer with under two minutes remaining, sealed the win.
With the victory, the Pistons improved to 21-19 on the season, continuing their strong start under Williams. Beasley, acquired in the offseason, has emerged as a key contributor, averaging 12.8 points per game while shooting 42% from three-point range.
Detroit will look to build on its momentum Thursday when it faces the Indiana Pacers. Meanwhile, the Knicks, now 18-22, will aim to rebound against the Boston Celtics on Friday.
