TALLAHASSEE, Florida — The Pittsburgh Panthers will face the Florida State Seminoles at noon today without 17 players on their roster. A significant highlight of the pre-game report is senior running back Desmond Reid, who is listed as a ‘game-time decision’ following an injury.

Reid, a returning All-American, suffered a lower body injury during the first half of a game against West Virginia and has not played since September 13. His return could be pivotal for the Panthers, who have struggled to maintain consistency without him.

In the lead-up to today’s contest, Reid had been listed as ‘questionable’ for previous games against Louisville and Boston College before ultimately being ruled out. However, the Panthers’ coaching staff is optimistic about his prospects for today based on how Reid performs during warm-ups.

This season, Reid has tallied 142 rushing yards on 24 carries, with one touchdown and six receptions for 71 yards. His impressive performance last season included 966 rushing yards, 579 receiving yards, and 10 total touchdowns. Freshman running backs Juelz Goff and Ja’Kyrian Turner have filled in during his absence, combining for a solid performance in last week’s win against Boston College.

The Panthers will also evaluate the availability of defensive backs Cruce Brookins, Tamon Lynum, and Javon McIntyre, who are all set as game-time decisions. Brookins is currently second on the team in tackles, while Lynum has been sidelined since the second game of the season.

Game availability reports indicate the Panthers will be missing four defensive ends and the left side of their offensive line. Key defensive players such as Zach Crothers, Jaeden Moore, Blaine Spires, and Joey Zelinsky will be out, leaving the team with limited depth on defense.

Fully aware of the challenges ahead, the Pittsburgh coaching staff aims to adapt strategically given their current roster limitations. The Panthers are determined to put forth a competitive effort against the Seminoles despite their circumstances.
