Pittsburgh Pirates vs. Philadelphia Phillies Game Delayed by Rain

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates announced that their game against the Philadelphia Phillies at PNC Park will start with a rain delay. Originally scheduled for 6:40 p.m. ET, the latest update has first pitch moved to 8:00 p.m. ET due to persistent rain in the area.
This marks the second consecutive game for the Pirates to face a rain delay. The previous game against the Houston Astros on June 5 also suffered from severe weather, resulting in a lengthy three-hour and 22-minute delay. That game eventually started at 10:02 p.m., and the Pirates lost 8-2.
In this season, the Pirates have faced seven rain delays, with a majority occurring in May. Their match against the Phillies on May 16 also began after a rain delay, pushing the start time to 8:30 p.m. from an initially scheduled 6:45 p.m. start.
Fans have been advised to stay updated as more announcements are expected regarding the rain delay. The Pirates will be looking to bounce back against a strong Phillies team, aiming to avoid another loss after a tough series against the Astros.
The forecast indicates a 64 percent chance of rain and thunderstorms continuing through 8:00 p.m. ET, before easing up later in the evening. Pirates fans are hopeful for an improved weather situation and are eager for the game to commence without further delays.
