The match took place at the Madre de Ciudades Stadium, where thousands of fans witnessed a tense battle between the two teams. Mainero’s goal came in the 18th minute from a well-placed header off a free kick delivered by Taborda.

Fans erupted in celebration as the team clinched the victory, marking a significant achievement for Platense, popularly known as ‘El Calamar.’ Their journey to the final saw them eliminate San Lorenzo to earn their spot against Huracán, who defeated Independiente in the semifinals.

Both teams initially struggled to gain control in the match, with Huracán maintaining more possession but failing to create clear opportunities. Platense’s goalkeeper, Cozzani, made crucial saves to keep a clean sheet against their rivals.

In the closing moments, Huracán pressed for an equalizer, but Platense’s defense held firm. This triumph not only grants Platense their first title but also secures their entry into the next Copa Libertadores.

“This is a dream come true for all of us. We worked so hard for this moment,” Mainero said after the match. The celebrations continued as the players and fans reveled in their historic achievement.
