LOS ANGELES, CA – The LTA North Split 2 playoffs kicked off on May 24, unveiling the top six teams vying for a chance to compete at the Mid-Season Invitational and the Esports World Cup. After a series of mixed results from both best-of-one and best-of-three matches, eight teams have been narrowed down to six, with Flyquest, Cloud9, and Team Liquid expected to lead the charge.

Flyquest emerges as a heavy favorite after an impressive season. Guided by jungler Inspired, who has showcased MVP-caliber performance, the team is back at the top of the LTA North standings. Their only blemish this split came from a earlier loss to Cloud9, but they have since avenged that defeat and demonstrated an unstoppable force throughout the playoffs.

“We’re confident in our game plan and in each other,” said Inspired after their recent victory. “We’ve learned from our past mistakes and are ready for any challenges ahead.”

Shopify Rebellion, who shocked many by defeating 100 Thieves in the Group Phase, will aim to disrupt Flyquest’s momentum. Jungler Contractz is a key player for them, providing stability in a team that often faces struggles. Despite mixed performances from mid laner Palafox and top laner Fudge, growth is evident with Shopify and they stand a chance to extend their playoff run.

“We know we can compete against the best,” Contractz stated. “It’s all about bringing our best game when it matters.”

The upcoming matchup between Cloud9 and Team Liquid also captures attention as the teams enter on opposite momentum arcs. Cloud9, despite a solid 3-0 record in the Group Phase, has faced criticism for a shaky performance against LYON. In contrast, Team Liquid seems rejuvenated after roster changes, with jungler Yuuji earning praise for his debut.

Recent results show Liquid’s potential with standout performances from players like Impact. “Every match counts, and we’re ready to prove ourselves,” Impact said in anticipation of the playoffs.

As for the Loser’s Bracket, 100 Thieves looks to rebound after narrowly avoiding elimination. The team’s significant victory over Disguised has reignited their confidence, and mid laner Quid’s flawless performances stand out as crucial. “We’re a different team now, and everyone will see that,” Quid declared.

The full slate of playoffs continues, with the eventual grand finals scheduled for June 15. As fans across the league gear up for the matchups, excitement swirls around who will secure the top prize and claim a spot on the international stage.
