Police Employ Stringent Measures To Restrict Farmers' Entry Into Delhi During Protests

The ongoing Delhi Chalo farmer’s protest has witnessed intense measures by the police to impede the movement of farmers from Punjab and Haryana into the national capital.

Authorities have strategically established checkpoints and erected formidable barricades and walls at various borders, aiming to restrict the protesters’ advance. Farmers, determined to proceed with their march, have engaged in altercations with law enforcement, forcibly removing cement barricades barring their way.

Police deployment is notably high in numbers, with barbed wire being used to prevent the movement of vehicles towards Delhi. Farmers, in some instances, have actively cleared hurdles upon congregating in considerable numbers, escalating tensions.

The administration and law enforcement agencies are maintaining stringent surveillance on social media channels and utilizing drones for monitoring protest-related activities. Internet services in certain areas have been temporarily shut down to curb the spread of misinformation.

The Delhi Police has secured the borders with Uttar Pradesh and Haryana, tightly controlling traffic flow. Senior officers and central forces have been mobilized to manage the situation effectively, expressing the need for designated temporary holding areas for arrested protestors.
