Punjab FC displayed a stellar performance as they secured an impressive 3-1 away win against Kerala Blasters FC in the Indian Super League encounter at the iconic Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi.

The clash marked a significant milestone for both teams, with Ivan Vukomanovic’s Kerala Blasters tasting their first home defeat of the season, while Punjab FC celebrated their maiden victory on the road in the ongoing ISL campaign.

Throughout the match, Kerala Blasters showed early dominance, creating key chances in the first half. Local talent, Rahul KP, missed a golden opportunity to put the home side in the lead after a precise delivery from Daiksuke Sakai.

However, it was central defender Milos Drincic who capitalized on an error by Punjab FC’s Ravi Kumar to give Kerala Blasters the lead with a clinical finish in the 39th minute.

Punjab FC quickly responded, with their star striker Wilmar Jordan Gil showcasing his goal-scoring prowess. Gil equalized the scores in the 42nd minute and then put Punjab FC ahead in the 61st minute with another well-taken goal, supported by Madih Talal.

The visitors sealed their victory when Luka Majcen converted a late penalty in the 88th minute, securing a convincing win for Punjab FC.

Key Performer of the Match, Wilmar Jordan Gil, displayed exceptional skills, creating three goal-scoring opportunities and scoring two crucial goals that propelled Punjab FC to victory.

Looking ahead, Kerala Blasters FC will face Jamshedpur FC, while Punjab FC will take on Chennaiyin FC in their upcoming matches on February 15 and 16 respectively.
