Predators Start Road Trip Against Senators on Canadian Thanksgiving

OTTAWA, ON – The Nashville Predators are kicking off a four-game road trip this afternoon against the Ottawa Senators at the Canadian Tire Centre. The game begins at 1 p.m. ET on Canadian Thanksgiving, marking Ottawa’s home opener.
Nashville enters the matchup with three points from their first two games of the season. They opened the campaign with a 2-1 win over Columbus before losing to the Utah Mammoth, 3-2, in overtime. Predators Captain Roman Josi spoke about the significance of this first road trip. “It’s always an important road trip…especially [this early in the] season,” Josi said. “It would be good for us to get on the road and get some wins.”
Forward Erik Haula echoed Josi’s sentiments, stating, “I just think we need to keep going. That first road trip is where you want your intensity and play level to stay high.” In their last game, Filip Forsberg and Haula each scored a goal, while Brady Martin, 18, had an assist for his first NHL point.
The Senators, who started their season last Thursday with a 5-4 win over Tampa, suffered a 6-2 loss against Florida in their last outing. Shane Pinto is off to a strong start with four goals and five points after two games. Linus Ullmark has been in goal for both of Ottawa’s games, posting an .808 save percentage.
Nashville has historically performed well against Ottawa, with a 19-13 overall record and 2-1-2 in their last five games at the Canadian Tire Centre. However, Nashville lost the regular-season series to Ottawa last year, marking the first time since 2011-12 that they did not win the series against the Senators.
