LONDON, England – The Premier League has confirmed that the fixtures for the 2025/26 season will be released at 09:00 BST on Wednesday, June 18, 2025. Fans can check the complete list of matches on premierleague.com or via the Premier League’s official app.
The season is set to kick off with the first round of matches on Saturday, August 16, 2025, and conclude with the final round on Sunday, May 24, 2026. All matches will commence simultaneously on the closing day, continuing a long-standing tradition.
This upcoming season will feature a total of 33 weekend match rounds and five midweek fixtures. To provide players with more rest, especially during the busy festive season, no two match rounds will be scheduled within 60 hours of each other. Notably, there will be no matches on Christmas Eve, December 24, 2025.
The Premier League emphasizes that the August 16 start date allows for 83 clear days of rest from the conclusion of the 2024/25 season. The league also aims to finish before the FIFA 2026 World Cup call-up period.
Fans in the United Kingdom can assess the new schedules during their morning commutes, while those in the United States will wake up to a social media buzz regarding fixture announcements, set for 4 a.m. ET and 1 a.m. PT.
The 2025/26 season brings excitement as fans eagerly anticipate matchups and derby nights, marking a fresh beginning for clubs, including newly promoted Sunderland, Leeds, and Burnley, returning to the top flight.
As the release date approaches, supporters look forward to penciling in the date of their club’s opening match and strategizing for the season ahead.
