Premier League Returns With Five Midweek Matches

The much-awaited Premier League resumes this week after a weekend of FA Cup action, with a thrilling lineup of five matches on Tuesday. Football fans across the country are eagerly anticipating the clashes, which include title-chasing Arsenal‘s visit to the City Ground to face Nottingham Forest in the early kick-off at 7.30pm. Other matches on the schedule include Fulham hosting Sean Dyche’s Everton at Craven Cottage, bottom side Sheffield United aiming to climb off the foot of the table with a win at Crystal Palace, Luton playing host to an in-form Brighton, and high-flying Aston Villa taking on out-of-sorts Newcastle in the late kick-off. It is these two encounters that we will focus on in our latest Bet Builders.

Bet 1: Draw

Both Aston Villa and Newcastle enter this fixture in decent form. Aston Villa boasts the best home record of any side in the league, having won nine out of ten games at Villa Park. On the other hand, Newcastle has suffered four consecutive league defeats and owns the second worst away record this season.

Bet 2: Over 3 Goals

In the last five games across all competitions, Newcastle has seen a total of 20 goals scored. Additionally, Villa has had exactly five goals in two of their last three matches. Thus, it is expected that this match will be a high-scoring affair.

Bet 3: Leon Bailey to Score Anytime

While Ollie Watkins has been praised for his excellent form this season, the supporting cast from midfield has also been deadly in front of goal. Jamaican winger Leon Bailey, who has registered six goals and five assists in the league this season, is expected to be involved in the final third and potentially add to his impressive tally.

Meanwhile, the Luton versus Brighton match is set to be an exciting encounter. Luton has lost just one of their last seven games in all competitions, and although their defeat came at home against Chelsea, they have generally looked more dangerous at Kenilworth Road. On the other hand, Brighton is unbeaten in six matches and has secured three wins and three draws during this period. However, their defensive record is a concern, having conceded 33 goals this season, more than any other team in the top half of the table.

Bet 1: Draw

Considering Luton’s good form at home and Brighton’s defensive vulnerability, a draw seems like a plausible outcome in this match.

Bet 2: Over 1 Goal in the Second Half

Luton scored a late equalizer in their last league game, while five of Brighton’s last eight league goals have been scored in the second half. Moreover, 12 of the last 18 league goals scored at Kenilworth Road have been netted after the half-time whistle, suggesting a slow start.

Bet 3: Joao Pedro to Score Anytime

Joao Pedro, the Brazilian forward, has been in electric goalscoring form lately, finding the net seven times in his last six games across all competitions. He even secured a hat-trick in his recent FA Cup outing against Sheffield United. Against a team with the fourth leakiest defense in the league, he may well add to his impressive goal tally.
