Premier Soccer League announces fixtures for 2024 Nedbank Cup
The Premier Soccer League (PSL) has revealed the fixture list for the highly anticipated 2024 Nedbank Cup. The draw took place in Sandton, Gauteng, with matches set to kick off on Tuesday, 20 February. The final will be held on Saturday, 1 June, just a week after the completion of the season.
The Nedbank Cup last 32 will feature 16 teams from the DStv Premiership, eight teams from the Motsepe Foundation Championship, and eight teams from local leagues across the country. Notable teams representing the SAFA structures include FC Ravens from Eastern Cape, D' General from Free State, Madridtas from Limpopo, NC Professionals from Northern Cape, Spain FC from North West, and Paarl United from Western Cape. The representative from Mpumalanga will be confirmed soon.
Additionally, the first division teams earning a spot in the competition are Platinum City Rovers, JDR Stars, NB La Masia, Hungry Lions, Pretoria Callies, University of Pretoria, Milford FC, and Maritzburg United.
Last year’s champions, Orlando Pirates, will be defending their title in the Nedbank Cup. They emerged victorious in a thrilling 2-1 victory against Sekhukhune United at Loftus Versfeld Stadium, securing their fourth “Ke Yona Ya Rona” trophy.
The Nedbank Cup schedule, according to the PSL, is as follows:
- Last 32: Tuesday, 20 February and Saturday, 24 February
- Last 16: Tuesday, 12 March and Saturday; 16 March
- Quarter-finals: Saturday, 13 April
- Semi-finals: Saturday, 4 May
- Final: Saturday, 1 June
