Psg Eyes Barcelona's Young Star Fermin Lopez

Paris Saint-Germain is making some serious waves in the football world as they reportedly want to sign a rising star from FC Barcelona, Fermin Lopez. Rumor has it they’re ready to offer him a staggering salary—20 times what he currently makes!

Now, PSG is no stranger to swooping in and snagging Barcelona’s best talent. You might remember back in 2017 when they grabbed Neymar for a jaw-dropping fee. More recently, they brought Ousmane Dembele on board with a well-timed pitch that convinced him to leave Catalonia.

Joan Laporta, the president of Barcelona, has already turned down a hefty offer from PSG—around $220 million—for Lamine Yamal, another coveted player. That doesn’t seem to deter the Parisians, though, as they’re now focusing on Fermin Lopez, who had a standout season last year.

Fermin, who previously played on loan at a lower-tier team called Linares, really caught everyone’s attention this past season. Under manager Xavi Hernandez, he proved his worth, even becoming a Spanish international. At the recent Olympics in Paris, he scored key goals that helped Spain clinch the gold medal.

According to reports, PSG is looking to offer Fermin a whopping contract that would bump his annual earnings from about $275,000 to $5.5 million, a massive jump to entice him to leave the Catalan club.

Despite the strong interest from PSG, Barcelona is not sitting idly by. They are keen to extend Fermin’s contract until 2029 and protect him from the lure of other teams with a hefty release clause. The club recognizes his value especially after such a stellar season.
