Psg Still On The Hunt For A Kylian Mbappe Replacement

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is still on the lookout for a replacement for Kylian Mbappe. After sending Xavi Simons on loan to Leipzig, the French champions had their sights set on signing big names. They had bids turned down for Vinicius Junior and Lamine Yamal earlier this summer.

While signing Lamine Yamal was always a long shot due to his age, PSG seemed to have a better chance of bringing Vinicius on board. The addition of Mbappe at Real Madrid leaves some questions about how Vinicius fits into the team. Here at PSG Post, we believe that pursuing the Brazilian international was a move that should have continued.

Although coach Luis Enrique has some capable attackers in his squad, none are likely to match the impressive numbers that Mbappe put up last season. For instance, Goncalo Ramos netted 11 goals and provided 2 assists across 29 Ligue 1 games, while Bradley Barcola scored four goals and made seven assists in 28 Ligue 1 games. Randal Kolo Muani wasn’t far behind with six goals and five assists in 26 league matches.

With the upcoming season approaching, someone will have to step up. If not, PSG might struggle to find the back of the net as often as they did last year. On the other hand, Vinicius Junior emerged as one of Real Madrid’s standout performers last season, with an impressive tally of 24 goals and 11 assists in 39 games.

If he had been fully fit throughout the entire season, there’s a good chance his numbers could’ve been even better. Vinicius is also considered a strong contender for the Ballon d’Or, alongside his teammate Jude Bellingham, who had a fantastic first season at Real Madrid.
