MILAN, Italy — Christian Pulisic is reportedly on the verge of extending his contract with AC Milan, securing a pay rise as recognition for his impressive performances since joining the club from Chelsea in the summer of 2023.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Pulisic is ‘one step away’ from a contract extension that could last until 2029, with a new salary of €5 million net per season.
In this current season, Pulisic has already contributed over 20 goals, recording 12 goals and nine assists across 30 appearances in various competitions. His overall performance for the Rossoneri includes 27 goals and 20 assists in 80 games, demonstrating his pivotal role in the team.
Pulisic’s significance was highlighted during a recent match, where he came off the bench at halftime in a 2-0 victory over Empoli and assisted both goals. This further emphasizes his essential contribution to the team’s success.
On another note, Santiago Gimenez, a recent addition to AC Milan, also expressed his enthusiasm regarding his move to the club. Gimenez’s father shared insights about his son’s journey, revealing that the young player idolized several AC Milan legends during his childhood.
“Santiago is incredible; he makes us very happy,” said his father, Christian Gimenez. “He brings dedication and passion for what he does. Today at Milan, he is very happy with the group and the technical staff.”
Gimenez, who recently joined from Feyenoord, made an impressive debut, contributing to a 3-1 Coppa Italia victory over Roma. He also scored his first goal in Serie A against Empoli.
AC Milan’s head coach, Sergio Conceicao, highlighted the team’s growth and collective understanding as they prepare for their Champions League play-off against Feyenoord tonight at De Kuip.
“It’s the truth. In Zagreb, it wasn’t a good match at all,” Conceicao remarked, reflecting on the team’s previous performance. “We have to prove it on the pitch.”
As the two teams meet for only the third time in a competitive match, the rivalry is intensified by historical context. The last meeting took place over 50 years ago, with Feyenoord having the upper hand in their only previous encounters.
Overall, Pulisic’s potential contract extension, coupled with his outstanding performance, sets a positive tone for AC Milan’s campaign as they aim for success in both domestic and European fixtures this season.
